Description

The Centro de Documentação e Interpretação Urbana João Álvaro Rocha is situated on the site of architect João Álvaro Rocha’s former workplace in Maia, in a building designed by Eduardo Souto de Moura. This space offers the public access to a library specialising in the arts and architecture, as well as to the architect’s estate, providing an insight into his creative process and his notable works in Maia. The collection is owned by Maia Municipal Council, having been donated by the architect’s family, and is housed in premises provided to the council on a loan basis.
